The Metal Packaging Manufacturers Association (MPMA) announces final call to enter its sponsored category ‘Metal Pack of the Year’ at the UK Packaging Awards 2024.
MPMA’s Metal Pack of the Year category returns to recognise the very best in metal packaging and showcases innovation, versatility, technical expertise and design creativity across the sector.
The deadline to enter is Friday 14 June 2024 via UK Packaging Awards website – ukpackagingawards.co.uk.
Jason Galley, MPMA Director and Chief Executive comments: “I encourage all our members to get involved. Being shortlisted for this prestigious award is a badge of honour for members and is a testament to their quality production, innovation and pack craftmanship.”
Within the Metal Pack of the Year award, there are two distinct categories – High Volume Food and Beverage and Decorative, Promotional and General Line.
Last year’s winner was Eviosys with Ecopeel™ in the High Volume Food and Beverage category; the body of the metal pack is bent at 45 degrees to allow foils to be directly sealed to the cans.
Eviosys was also awarded the top prize for the Decorative and Promotional, General Line category for the Celestia candle tin which was produced using a new hot stamp foil process.
Jason comments: “This was a beautiful pack which stops you in your tracks, but also introduces a new production process which can be used across other products, adding a new dimension to decorative metal packaging. We are excited to see more innovative and creative packs at this year’s awards.”
The UK Packaging Awards takes place at London’s iconic Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane, on Thursday 10 October 2024 and brings together professionals from the packaging and retail space.
“The awards offer a significant networking opportunity, as many of our members’ customers including leading names in food, beverage, homecare and healthcare sectors as well as retailers are in attendance. It’s an evening to celebrate the innovative spirit within our industry and the versatility of metal packaging. ,” adds Jason.
